ERLING Haaland is feasting on goals again this season – after having a special shipment of salmon jetted into the UK from his native Norway.

The Scandinavian country is regarded as having some of the best fish stocks in the world.

And with the striker unhappy with the quality of fish on offer in Manchester, he has persuaded officials to source the fish direct from his homeland to ensure it’s up to scratch.

The striker, who has 13 goals this season, now tucks into the fish each week to top up on vitamin D, B12 and selenium and iodine.

A source said: “Haaland’s been banging on about the fish.

“He wanted salmon, so he made the nutritionist arrange for the best fish restaurant in Norway to have their kitchen staff fly over.

“It’s cost an absolute fortune – but it’s the best salmon.”

Haaland’s dedication to the game means he pays very close attention to his diet, consuming 6,000 calories a day.

The Sun has previously told how he enjoys an unusual diet as he tries to keep himself in peak physical shape to terrorise defenders.

He regularly downs a “magic potion” of cow’s milk smoothies laced with spinach and kale and enjoys feasting on cow hearts and liver.

He also enjoys a pre-match lasagne cooked by his dad before a game.

Erling’s dad Alfie said his son tried to follow a strict diet after seeing how eating healthily had allowed Cristiano Ronaldo to become one of the best players in the world.

He said: “He was told a story by Patrice Evra about a lunch he had with Ronaldo and Cristiano had fish, nothing else.

“Erling now tries to do the same things because Ronaldo is 38 and still at the top of the game.”

Victoria Braathen, UK director of the Norwegian Seafood Council, said: “I’m happy two of Norway’s most famous treasures have found each other in the UK.

“Our salmon is the world’s most popular fish, globally recognised for its quality and nutritious credentials.”

Haaland also takes ice baths to recover after games and bans gadgets from his bedroom so his sleep is not affected.

He will not play at Euro 2024 after Norway failed to qualify.
