A 32-year-old man who was shot in the head in Perth’s east on Saturday has died. 

WA Police have charged a 35-year-old man with murder over the fatal shooting, which forced the town of Wooroloo into lockdown for four hours.

Police were called to the scene of Needham Road and Marauba Close, about 50km east of Perth, around 7:20am and found the victim with a gunshot wound to his head. 

He was flown to Royal Perth Hospital and received treatment in the intensive care unit, but died in hospital on Sunday.

Wooroloo locals were urged to stay inside and lock their doors, while police scoured the area for multiple people potentially linked to the incident who had fled into the bush.

Officers located the 35-year-old man, who was charged with murder by murder by homicide detectives. 

He has been refused bail and is due to appear in Midland Magistrates Court on Monday. 

Investigation ongoing

Detectives are seeking dash-cam vision showing the movements of a blue Toyota Rukus wagon, with the registration number 1HZW 926.

They are also seeking vision of any person seen walking or running on Needham Street, between Liberton Road and Dinsdale Road, between 7:00am and and 8:30am.
