But one bride has shared how she managed to cut costs on her big day, leaving many totally stunned.

From buying her wedding dress from Oxfam and her veil and shoes from Vinted, to cutting back on a pricey cake or a fancy sign.

Lauren Evick recently got married to her lover Connor Young and has now taken to social media to share how she kept her day on a budget.

She said: “Minimum budget/maximum love.

“Our wedding on a budget.

“From two people who cared more about being Mr and Mrs, than they did about anything else.”

Lauren shared a snap of her and her husband cutting into their wedding cake, which read ‘Mr and Mrs Young’, as she confirmed that she bought her cake for just £60 from Cake Box.

When it came to the wedding sign, which read ‘Welcome to our Happily Ever After Party, Lauren & Connor, 23/09/23’, Lauren explained that the sign cost just £16.

She confirmed that it was £8 for the canvas, £8 for the flowers and then the pair used paint they already had at home.

To create the sign, they used a projector to stencil on the writing, rather than paying someone else to do it or having it professionally printed.

Lauren then confirmed that she didn’t spend any money on getting her make-up done, as she did it with stuff she already had, therefore making it totally free.

However, she did decide to get her hair done for the big day, and spent £30 on her sleek up-do.

When it came to the registry office and the reception, it cost the couple £1,350, which also included food and music.

For the big day, Lauren wore a stunning off-the-shoulder white gown, which she revealed she nabbed for just “£200 from Oxfam’s bridal section.”

Not only this, but her shoes and veil cost her just “£35 from Vinted.”

Connor saved cash on his outfit too, as his suit was “one he already had.”

Instead of splashing the cash on a pricey photographer, Lauren claimed that her photos were “free” as she asked her guests to take pictures of the day on their phones.

Finally, where flowers, buttonholes and a car to the venue where concerned, the pair spent only £300, as they were able to get discounts “through a few close contacts.”

The TikTok clip, which was posted just 16 hours ago under the username @laurenevick, has clearly left many stunned, as it has quickly amassed 44,900 views.

Social media users were open-mouthed at Lauren and Connor’s fabulous, but budget day, and many took to the comments to express this.

One person said: “Maximum Love is all you’ll ever need, looks so perfect.”

Another added: “Love this! We did it all on a budget too, absolutely loved our wedding day. You look stunning!!”

A third commented: “Love this for you, looks amazing.”

Whilst someone else wrote: “15k+ weddings are so outdated now. You really can do everything on a budget and use your money to spend on yourselves and your future. Don’t waste it.”

To this, Lauren replied: “Amen!! People literally said it’s one of the best they’ve been to and the registrar said in all her years she’s never cried but almost did at ours.”
