Tesla owner Sal Cameli posted a TikTok clip showing how he pulls the cable across the pavement outside his home.
Gesturing to a gap at the top of his front windows, Sal said: “My cable comes out of this hole.
“I push it right out this hole. That hole is 9.5ft in the air – 8.5ft inside my apartment.”
After threading the cable through the hole from inside his front room in Jersey City, Sal goes outside and pulls it down.
Holding the cable next to a signpost, he said: “So I take this, and I put it inside a stainless steel zip-tie that I have on the pole.
“Now I’m hooking up this extension that I had custom-made.
“It plugs into the Tesla on the other end.”
Sal added: “Nobody is tripping here. The cable is 8.5ft in the air.
“Many, many, many times people walk under this thing – and they don’t even realise it’s there.
“Here I am tightening the cable and plugging it in.
“When I’m done, I put it on that shelf and I pull it back inside my house.
“The cable is outside only about ten hours a week.”
It comes as a car maker loved by Brits is scrapping plans for a £1.7billion factory for its flagship EVs – in a major blow to the “high-volume” motors.
