But when he’s not trekking up Mount Everest, and in the North Pole, he loves nothing more than being at home with his wife Marina Fogle.
Who is Ben Fogle’s wife Marina?
Marina Fogle is the co-founder of The Bump Class, which prepares mums-to-be for their labour journey, with her sister Dr Chiara Hunt.
The Austrian also has a podcast with her sister called The Parent Hood.
The business savvy sisters are the authors behind The Bump Class: An Expert Guide to Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond, which was released in 2016.
Marina and Ben moved out of their West London home into a period cottage in leafy Henley-on-Thames with their young children.
When did Ben Fogle and Marina Hunt get married?
Marina married presenter Ben Fogle in 2006 after they met each other while walking their dogs in Hyde Park.
They co-authored Ben’s Up: My Life’s Journey to the Top of Everest, which was released in 2018.
Since meeting, the couple have enjoyed a private marriage and keep their personal matters out of the spotlight.
How many children do they have?
Marina and Ben share two children: Ludovic Herbert Richard, born in 2009 and Iona, born in 2011.
Sadly, in 2014 their son Willem was stillborn after an acute placental abruption meant that he was starved of oxygen.
Ben shared how Marina came “within 20 minutes of dying” whilst she was in labour.
The couple revealed how they went counselling following the tragedy, before deciding to not try for any more kids.
Marina has also shared the couple’s approach to body positivity.
She said in her podcast: “I’ve never been shy about my body, and Ben and I enjoy piling in to the bath with our children.
“I’ve never been prudish about them seeing me naked, and they certainly aren’t fazed by it. However, as Ludo matures emotionally and physically, I have wondered whether I ought to reconsider our blasé attitude to nudity.
“I heave a sigh of relief that my imperfect body – caesarean-scarred and stretch-marked, and with breasts that bear the hallmarks of two well-fed babies – is still serving to give my children a healthy view of what a normal body looks like in a world of Instagram filters.
“If my years of parenting have taught me anything, it’s that honesty, although not always easy, is your friend.”
