Rihanna, 35, and her rapper boyfriend named their son Riot Rose Mayers, according to a birth certificate obtained by The Blast on Thursday.
He appears to be following in the footsteps of his older brother, whose equally uncommon name also starts with “R.”
Weeks after their first son’s birth, the Diamonds singer and ASAP Rocky revealed that they named their son RZA Athelston Mayers – an homage to the Wu-Tang rapper RZA.
Rihanna and the New York rapper have not revealed the inspiration behind their son’s name, however ASAP did release a song called Riot earlier this year.
According to the baby’s birth certificate, he was born at 7.41am on August 1.
Rihanna reportedly gave birth at Cedar Sinai Hospital.

The same insider told the outlet that the child’s name “starts with the letter R.”

Her supporters pointed out that she had been relatively inactive on social media, sharing only old photos.

Rihanna welcomed her first child – a son named RZA – on May 13, 2022.
Months earlier, in January, she announced her pregnancy when she and ASAP Rocky were photographed out together in New York City.
The Grammy-winning musician flaunted her bare belly as she strolled through the Big Apple.
Of her first pregnancy, the musician told Vogue: “I wouldn’t say [we were] planning [to start a family] but certainly not planning against it.
“I don’t know when I ovulate or any of that type of s**t. We just had fun and then it was just there on the test.”
She announced her second pregnancy at the Super Bowl in February.
