Experts have urged Brits to be careful when taking their pooch to the coast amid recent horror stories.
One little terrier almost lost their life after plummeting from a 100ft cliff near Lulworth, in Dorset, yesterday.
Rebel had been off the lead when the terrifying incident took place.
His petrified owners frantically searched for the beloved pup in choppy waters below, and eventually caught sight of him.
Miraculously, the terrier was wondering along the beach, headed towards the Jurassic Coast’s famous Durdle Door.
After dragging his paws across the stones for nearly an hour, the untouchable pooch made it back to his shocked owners – and even asked for a well-deserved sausage.
The coastguard had been called and told the MailOnline that Rebel “did not have a mark on him”.
They even said the brave terrier appeared “completely unperturbed by his ordeal”.
But, Wyke Regis and Lulworth Coastguards warned Rebel was lucky to have survived the huge drop.
A Wyke Regis Coastguard spokesperson said: “The team were tasked along with Lulworth Coastguard Rescue Team to reports of a dog falling over the cliff.
“The fortunate hound did not have a mark on it and seemed completely unperturbed – I think it just wanted a sausage.
“We gave out some stern safety advice regarding keeping dogs on leads around cliffs.
“We would urge the public to heed these warnings.”
Rebel’s incident followed that of Bubbles, a French Bulldog who nearly drowned in Lincolnshire this week.
Paddleboarders at Humberston Fitties beach in Cleethorpes stepped in to help with the rescue before the poor pup nearly died.
HM Coastguard Cleethorpes were unable to safely reach the dog due to the tide.
And, Bubbles was unfortunately more shaken up by her frightening ordeal than Rebel.
A coastguard spokesperson said: “Bubbles was cold and very scared.
“She was taken home by a local resident until the owner could be identified.
“Bubbles was eventually reunited with her owner safe and well. We love a great outcome.
“Massive thank you to the two locals who assisted with the rescue.”
A third dog, Peppa, found herself stuck on a coastal path in Wales.
Luckily, fisherman on the Llyn Peninsula in Gwynedd, saw her in distress and the coastguard was called in.
A helicopter was even deployed to help in the “tense” mission to return Peppa safely to her terrified owners.
She was eventually taken home safe and sound.
This comes as dog owners have been issued many other important warnings.
Dr Hunter Finn took to TikTok to reveal the small sign that could mean your pooch needs an emergency spinal cord assessment.
Another veterinarian also raised the alarm about five foods you should never give your pet as some could be lethal.
Raisins, onions and garlic were just a few of the examples the vet gave and even revealed that dried grapes can cause kidney failure in dogs.
One more expert revealed the reason why you need to keep common bathroom items away from your dog.
Plus, a Relief Veterinarian issued an urgent warning for dog owners ahead of the heatwaves that are set to hit the UK this summer.
