Aug. 13 (UPI) — Police said Saturday a suspect is in custody after a man was shot multiple times at an indoor trampoline park in suburban Baltimore County.

Baltimore County Police Det. Anthony Shelton told reporters at a late-night press briefing outside the Sky Zone trampoline park in Timonium, Md., that the man was specifically targeted in the shooting and had been hospitalized in serious condition.

The suspect had left the facility after the shooting and was arrested elsewhere, Shelton said, adding that it appeared to be an “isolated” incident with no further danger posed to the community.

No children who were inside the Sky Zone at the time of early Saturday evening incident were injured. All have been accounted for and reunited with their parents, the detective said.

The shooting happened just inside the entrance to the park.

Witness Dominic Sinclair told the Baltimore Sun he heard multiple “pops” while standing at the park’s register, grabbed his son and ran out into the parking lot, adding that his child “almost got trampled” in the rush by customers to escape the scene.

“This incident of gun violence is shocking, horrifying, and simply has no place in our community,” Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski said in a statement issued Saturday.

“We are thankful that no children were injured in this shameful act of cowardice. I thank the [Baltimore County Police] for their swift response and for quickly detaining a suspect in this case.”
