The cast has been revealed for the brand new BBC Three comedy series Dinosaur, the latest series from Two Brothers Pictures, the team behind Fleabag.

Two Brothers also made hit BBC shows The Tourist and Back to Life.

Dinosaur follows Nina (Ashley Storrie), an autistic woman in her 30s, who adores her life living with her sister and best friend Evie.

However, when Evie rushes into an engagement after only six weeks and makes Nina her maid of honour, Nina is floored.

Forced to reconcile with her sister’s impulsive decision, Nina grapples with what this new challenge means, leading to a surprising journey of self-discovery.

Ashley stars alongside Kat Ronney, from The Royal Mob, as Evie.

The two are joined by David Carlyle, Danny Ashok and Bridgerton star Lorn Macdonald.

Lorn Macdonald played Albion Finch in seasons one and two of the hit Netflix drama Bridgerton.

Also joining the cast in supporting roles are Greg Hemphill, Sabrina Sandhu, Ben Rufus Green, Jim Kitson, Sally Howitt, Sanjeev Kohli and Game of Thrones star Kate Dickie.

The Scottish actress played the role of Lysa Arryn in the hit HBO television series.

And she won a Scottish BAFTA for her acting in the film Couple in a Hole.

Filming for the six-part series has already began on location in Scotland.

Actress Ashley Storrie has said: “I’m so excited that we’ve started filming, I’m jazzed to showcase Glasgow in all its magical beauty to the world!”

Meanwhile, creator Matilda Curtis said: “I’m thrilled that the series is moving ahead with such a superb cast.

“It’s been a joy to work on the scripts with the very gifted Ashley Storrie and the brilliant team at Two Brothers Pictures.”

Dinosaur will air on BBC Three and BBC Scotland later this year.

Other BBC shows coming back for additional seasons are Bad Education, Avoidance, Mandy, Peacock and Ellie & Natasia, while the new series include a six-part series called Ludwig starring David Mitchell.
