Occasional Digest - a story for you

Ahead of the 51st Pride in London parade this July, GAY TIMES is excited to announce the opening of its Pride Placard Pop-up on Regent Street.

Open to the public for three days from 29 June to 1 July, GT’s vibrant pop-up space will serve as a hub for creativity, connections, and conversations.

With an array of creative workshops led by artist Hannah Dickins and other community events, it will become a gathering place for the LGBTQ+ community and allies to express their pride and celebrate love in all its forms.

The Pride Placard Pop-up will feature a range of exciting initiatives and events designed to create connections and encourage conversation, including the interactive placard and badge-making station.

Guests will be able to unleash their creativity by crafting their own personalised placards, empowering individuals to share their unique voices and messages of love, equality, and unity during the parade.

The Pride Placard Pop-Up will be open from 10am on 29 and 30 June, and will open from 9am on 1 July. There will be 3-6 sessions available each day, which can hold up to 16 people per session. Tickets for the sessions can be purchased here, priced £10 each.

Proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to our charity partner, Micro Rainbow; an organisation that supports LGBTQ+ asylum seekers and refugees, facilitating access to safe housing, employment and education, as well as helping provide social inclusion activities for those faced with extreme isolation.

For those who don’t manage to book a session across the three days, the space will be open for the public to visit too.

On Thursday 29 July, we will be joined by Badge Cafe; a badge making initiative that specialises in community focused badges.

It serves as a symbol of solidarity and a powerful way to contribute to the ongoing fight for equality. By showcasing diverse perspectives, GAY TIMES aims to contribute to a society where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.

The Pride Placard Pop-up is set to become an integral part of Pride in London celebrations, serving as a testament to GAY TIMES’ unwavering commitment to supporting the LGBTIQ+ community across five decades.

GAY TIMES’ Pride Placard Pop-up will open at 59-61 Regent Street, London.
