All Creatures Great and Small is currently filming its sixth season, with Rachel Shenton taking a short break following the birth of her son earlier this month.
Fans of All Creatures Great and Small were over the moon when Rachel Shenton, who stars as Helen Herriot, announced the birth of her baby boy earlier this month.
The Channel 5 favourite took to Instagram to tell her followers that she welcomed her son, Orson Wilde, on April 9.
Rachel is currently taking a well-deserved break from shooting the sixth series of the hit show to enjoy precious moments with her little one. However, she hinted at a return to filming soon with a teasing update on social media.
The 37-year-old actress shared a photo on her Instagram stories that was originally posted by Nicholas Ralph, her co-star who plays her on-screen husband James Herriot.
The picture showed Nicholas with his fellow cast members Callum Woodhouse, Samuel West and Anna Madeley, all gathered at a restaurant. He captioned the snap “The gang.”
Reposting the image, Rachel added a sweet note saying: “Missing you all… see you soon.”
While Rachel cherishes time with her newborn, the rest of the All Creatures crew are busy filming the much-anticipated sixth season, reports Lancs Live.
Nicholas treated fans to a sneak peek of the on-set action this Wednesday, sharing a candid shot of Samuel West relaxing on a camp chair during a break in filming.
The release date for the upcoming season remains under wraps, especially since Rachel’s baby Orson made his surprise early entrance into the world.
Revealing the new arrival, she wrote: “On the 09.04.2025 my dream came true….Welcome to the world Orson Wilde Shenton Overton….Our hearts are yours.
“The biggest thank you to the brilliant midwives and doctors at Royal Stoke maternity Unit. Orson came along earlier than expected…so we needed to stay in hospital for a while and we couldn’t have wished for better care and support.”
Her announcement triggered a wave of congratulations, with several celebrities among those to send their well-wishes.
Kirsty Gallacher commented: “I am SO happy for you, over the moon in fact. This is the best news ever. Enjoy the newborn bubble. I’m sending you all so much love.”
Emily Atack also chimed in, saying: “Absolutely bl**dy brilliant news xxx”
