Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke has left the Celebrity Big Brother house after six days due to “instances of unacceptable behaviour” and “inappropriate language”, ITV has announced.

A spokesperson for the ITV show said: “Mickey Rourke has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behaviour.”

Prior to Mickey getting axed from the show, fans called for ITV to kick him out following his first unacceptable comment towards singer and influencer Jojo Siwa on day two. Despite receiving a formal warning, viewers believed it wasn’t enough, with a fan commenting on X: “How is this not just a formal warning? it’s repeated, disgusting, homophobia. Shame on ITV for not taking this more seriously. He should not be on tv.”

The BAFTA winner’s decision to leave the reality series comes from his behaviour and language being threatening and aggressive. The final straw came after a disagreement with his housemate Chris Hughes, a former Love Island contestant. Sources confirmed that there was no physical altercation between the two. But this wasn’t the only behaviour that was flagged to producers. Here’s a list of Mickey’s controversial moments from the show.

Homophobic slur

Micky told JoJo – who is in a relationship with non-binary influencer Kath Ebbs – that if he stays longer than four days, she “won’t be gay anymore” and that he will tie her up. He went onto tell his fellow housemates that he was going to “vote the lesbian out real quick” before telling JoJo: “I need a fag. I’m not talking to you.”

Big Brother quickly called Mickey into the diary room to reprimand him over the incident, revealing that any further language or behaviour of that nature could lead to him being removed from the house. Mickey said: “I apologise. I don’t have dishonourable intentions – I’m just talking smack you know. I wasn’t taking it all so serious. I didn’t mean in it any bad intentions and if I did, sorry.”

‘Fat-shaming’ comments

Mickey appeared to “fat shame” a fellow housemate. The Wrestler actor was seen in conversation with comedian Donna Preston. While she was wearing an LED face mask and lying on his bed, Mickey asked if she had been seeing any results.

Donna admitted she had only been using the mask for a few months, leading to Mickey saying: “You’d probably be better off running round the block for ten minutes.”

Donna responded: “I’ve got to try something. I’m getting a little turkey neck,” before Mickey added: “It comes with the territory.”

Donna appeared confused as she asked him: “What, life?”

“Yeah,” Mikey replied, before continuing: “It’s like they say, you are what you eat.”

The conversation left Donna looking visibly shocked before Patsy Palmer attempted to stick up for her by saying she knows the comedian eats “really healthy”. After Donna agreed with the EastEnders actress, she later shared her dismay to fellow housemates Danny Beard and Ella Rae Wise.

Mickey made a dig at Donna

She appeared to try to brush off the situation with laughter, but admitted her shock at Mickey’s “you are what you eat” comment. Danny joked that Mickey must have thought Donna “were gonna lose half a f—ing stone just by putting an LED mask on”.

‘Threatening’ behaviour

Tensions escalated between Mickey and Chris during a pirate-themed task, where the former Love Island’s gesture to the actor led to a heated exchange between the two. Mickey proceeded to tell him, “Don’t eyeball me.” Chris then told Mickey: “Mickey it was a joke, f***ing…” but he tells his co-star: “Don’t f***ing eyeball me. You c***.”

Danny and JoJo then both stepped in to try to diffuse the situation, sharing: “He was joking. He was joking. He was joking,” as Chris said: “F***ing stand there.” Mickey then asked what Chris said.

“He was joking,” Danny said as him and Daley stood in between Mickey and Chris to try to diffuse the situation. Chris said: “Mickey, it was a joke.” Big Brother then intervened: “This is Big Brother. Mickey, come to the diary room immediately.”

“No, your a** will be right there in a second,” Mickey said, as Big Brother then said more sternly: “Mickey, come to the diary room immediately.” Following that, Mickey did head to the Diary Room.

Following a chat with Big Brother in the Diary Room about his behaviour, Mickey then returned to the garden and apologised to Chris. Mickey then headed inside. Chris told the housemates: “Mickey’s just Mickey, you know what I mean.”

Vile sexual comment

Mickey’s sexual comments left his housemate Ella in tears. The comment came as Ella explained the house rules about the access to the snacks. “I have instructions for us all. We’re not allowed in the bedroom, no one is allowed to touch the crisps or sweets,” Ella informed the group. ” Mickey then told her: “I don’t like them” before Ella responded: “You’ve got to come with me!”

The film star then shocked everyone, replying to her: “Come in you?” After the awkward comment, Drag Race star Danny Bear, 32, pulled him into line, saying: “Mickey, you can’t make them jokes.” Ella then went to the diary room and said: “He’s making me feel on edge. I’m a young girl. I’m not a piece of meat. He’s making people feel so uneasy.”

‘Creepy’ altercation

Mickey’s behaviour towards host AJ Odudu also raised some concerns. After Mickey, 72, was introduced to the studio crowd and viewers at home, he continued to gaze at AJ, looking her up and pouting down before grabbing onto her. “I’m gonna stay with you,” he said.

AJ responded: “Stop looking at me.” In another twist, after he prolonged his entrance to the house, hosts AJ and Will Best attempted to speed things up by pushing Mickey into the house – but he decided to grab AJ and attempted to take her in with him.

The uncomfortable scenes certainly sparked a reaction on social media with many being left in complete disbelief. One viewer penned on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Well… Mickey’s just landed himself some Ofcom complaints. #cbbuk.” A second added: “I feel bad for AJ with the way Mickey Rourke kept pulling out her.”

Mickey’s apology

After the heated discussion with Chris Hughes, Mickey spent time in the Diary Room reflecting on everything that had happened over the past few days with his housemates. Consequently, Big Brother decided to remove him from the house.

Big Brother announced his departure, telling the actor: “Earlier today in a disagreement with Chris, your language and behaviour were threatening and aggressive. Big Brother does not tolerate threatening language or behaviour. In addition, you have used inappropriate sexual language to Ella.”

Mickey interrupted saying: “Oh, I’m not aware of that but okay.” Big Brother then continued: “This language has caused offence to your fellow housemates and could cause offence to the viewing public. This is not the first time Big Brother has had to speak to you about your offensive and inappropriate language.”

“Yes sir. I did wrong. I apologise. I’m sorry. I can’t take it back, you know, I stepped over the line. And I take responsibility for doing the wrong thing,” he continued.

The actor explained: “‘Cause I lost my temper, and I’ve been trying to work on it my whole life and I wish I would have had better self-control and I’m very sorry. I’m ashamed of myself for losing it for a few seconds there. Nobody got touched or hurt. Maybe some feelings got hurt or maybe others have feelings about others getting upset but, you know, I’m sorry about that.”

Continuing with his apology, he added: “I blame myself, I know it was my bad. You know, I’ve got a short fuse and I know I upset a lot of people out there, you know. And I’m sorry for that. I’m actually ashamed of myself for getting that hot.~”

“I went over the line, you know, I did wrong. I guess, like they say, I’m a work in progress. I just wanna pack my bags and leave, you know. I wanted to leave yesterday actually but I wasn’t chosen,” he concluded.
