The UK is home to a plethora of stunning beaches, but one sandy stretch is particularly catching the eye of holidaymakers. Bournemouth beach has been crowned as the UK’s top beach on Tripadvisor, winning over visitors with its vibrant beach huts, golden sands, and inviting waters.

In fact, if you fancy a swim, the bays offer some of the warmest sea temperatures in the UK. This seaside resort actually boasts seven miles of award-winning beaches, flanked by promenades brimming with fish and chip shops, arcades, ice cream parlours and an array of fantastic bars and restaurants.

Visiting doesn’t have to break the bank either, with plenty of budget-friendly accommodation available. For instance, hotel stays can be found from £40 a night with Kayak, while HolidayCottages offers a range of beautiful homes for week-long stays.

Premier Inn and Travelodge also have several hotels in the area, and rooms can sometimes be found from as little as £35 a night during their flash sales.

Beach huts are also available for hire if you want to make the most of your time on those golden sands and take in the breathtaking views of the British coastline.

The beach office also offers accessible wheelchairs for visitors with mobility needs, although it’s recommended to book in advance, particularly during the peak summer season.

Its soft, golden sands and crystal-clear waters have made the beach a beloved destination for holidaymakers for generations, and its popularity endures, as evident in the glowing Tripadvisor reviews.

One delighted visitor raved: “Omg, what a spectacular beach. Beautiful golden sands and miles long. As spring, weather not perfect beach weather but sunny day, dogs loving the beach and very relaxing walk along great promenade. Best beach in UK.”

Another reviewer praised the beach, saying: “Nice clean beach lovely to relax and go for nice long walks – bike hire also available and restaurants on beach front. Great escape.”

However, some visitors cautioned that the beach can quickly become littered during busy periods. One reviewer noted: “A beautiful beach but once actually sat down, there’s endless amounts of lighters, cigarette buts, and bits of rubbish.

“It’d be so much better if it was cleaner. However the fairground rides were great and some really nice restaurants and bars surrounding beach and nearby.”

Naturally, a stunning beach with crystal clear waters is bound to draw crowds, especially on those rare sunny and hot British days.

However, the coast boasts numerous Blue Flag beaches including Alum Chine, Durley Chine, Fisherman’s Walk, Manor Steps and Southbourne, offering plenty of options for beachgoers.
