EX-PREM striker Billy Sharp has seen red after landing a headbutt on an opponent’s BACK.
The former Sheffield United and Leeds striker currently plays for League Two side Doncaster Rovers.
Sharp, 39, came on as a second-half substitute on Saturday as Rovers took on fellow promotion chasers AFC Wimbledon.
Doncaster were looking for an equaliser after an early strike from Dons star Alistair Smith.
But Sharp provided the opposite impact to the one envisaged by boss Grant McCann.
Just 55 seconds after coming on, the striker got involved in a confrontation with Dons defender Joe Lewis.
Sharp was spotted slamming his head into Lewis’ back before giving him a shove.
Referee Neil Hair wasted no time in sending the 39-year-old for an early bath.
One fan gasped in response to the footage: “League 2 Zidane!”
Another said: “He should know better absolutely idiotic behaviour from Billy.”

While a third added: “I suppose it’s a red going by the rules. It’s really stupid from Sharp as he’d literally just come on the pitch.”
And a fourth joked: “Still be some idiots saying he didn’t do anything.”
Doncaster’s draw saw them miss out on a huge opportunity to reel in Bradford, who were top before Saturday’s games.
The Bantams somehow managed to lose a thriller 5-4 against Swindon, netting an own goal deep into stoppage time.
Just five points separate the top four in League Two.
Doncaster have a game in hand over Walsall, Bradford and leaders Port Vale.
Three points in that game would see them into second place.
Sharp is enjoying a second spell with the club after two prolific seasons between 2010 and 2012.
He re-joined last summer and so far has netted 8 goals in 41 games.
