MICKEY Rourke is forced to apologise to JoJo Siwa after making a vile homophobic slur and being given a formal warning.
In a sneak peek of tonight’s episode of Celebrity Big Brother, shared on the ITV show’s official instagram account, Mickey has to take accountability after a shocking series of events leaves JoJo in tears and him given a talking to in the diary room.
As the preview clip shows, Mickey is seen looking rattled in the diary room as he is taken to task over the way he has spoken to Dance Moms star JoJo.
As viewers will see play out tonight, Mickey is chatting to his younger housemate when he suggests he will be able to change the gay singer’s sexuality.
“Do you like girls or boys?” he asks her, out of the blue during a conversation about the smoking area.
JoJo replies: “Me? Girls. My partner is non-binary.”
Mickey then leaves her stunned when he replies: “If I stay longer than four days, you won’t be gay anymore.”
Putting him in his place, JoJo tells him in no uncertain terms: “I can guarantee I’ll still be gay and I’ll still be in a very happy relationship.”
To make matters worse, Mickey then uses a homophobic slur towards JoJo while chatting to Chris Hughes in the garden.
First he refers to her as “that lesbian” when saying he is going to nominate her, which JoJo overhears.
Firing back, she tells him: “That’s homophobic, if that was your reasoning.”
Doubling down after being chastised by Chris, Mickey then says: “I need a fag,” while looking at JoJo and adding: “I’m not talking to you.”
Once again, he is told off by Chris, but JoJo is left sobbing by the exchange while Big Brother calls Mickey to the diary room.
Once inside, he is given a formal warning and told his language and behaviour is unacceptable.
“I apologise. I don’t have dishonourable intentions – I’m just talking smack you know,” Mickey insists.
He then left the Diary Room and told his fellow housemates he had been “chewed out”.
Trisha tells him: “I guess it’s not what you say. It’s how it lands.”
Mickey continues to defend himself, adding: “I didn’t say it out of meanness.”
Chris is then forced to step in, explaining, “I understand you might have thought it would be uninsulting but it’s the way it’s perceived on other people. JoJo was very upset earlier, bless her.”
Mickey then turns to JoJo and says, “You were? Sorry. Are we ok?”
JoJo nods but reminds him: “As a future, using the word f** is not an acceptable word.”
Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
