Emmerdale spoilers have hinted there could be a new owner of the village shop currently owned by Eric Pollard on the ITV soap, with him planning on selling up or the money
There could be some new faces running the village shop on Emmerdale soon, with Eric Pollard keen to sell up.
With him in serious debt and owing ex Brenda Walker thousands of pounds, after losing her savings in a scam, Eric has decided to get the shop in order before he can put it up for sale. It’s not been revealed if and when it will be sold and who the new owners might be, as things have not go that far yet.
But fans are already suspecting they know who could take over, with two names in the rumour mill. While some fans pointed out it would have to be someone who had the money to pay for the shop, others questioned if one of two characters will end up taking over.
The names predicted were Manpreet Sharma and Claudette Anderson. Others speculated a new character or even Caleb Miligan would want to be in charge, but most people suggested Manpreet or Claudette to give them some more screen time in the village.
One viewer predicted: “I think it would be good to have it a bit more central like the post office used to be with Viv and the Windsors! Maybe someone like Claudette for all the gossip?”

Another agreed: “Omg I’d love to see Claudette or Manpreet in the shop!! Would be TV gold!!!” A third fan added: “Manpreet might get struck off if those pictures become public knowledge.
“She will need somewhere else. And I can’t see many other people having the money to buy it.” A further comment read: “Oooh good shout! Imagine Manpreet and Claudette running it together haha.”
Someone else said: “I’d like to see someone like Claudette behind the counter, but I feel like someone with money like the Miligans would be more likely.” Another theory was Caleb, with a post reading: “Caleb he wanted the Hide.”
Meanwhile, a final theory read: “Maybe a new character comes in to take over the shop? They’ve gotten rid of quite a few cast members recently. I’m not sure who I can see currently in the village who would take it over. But I agree it should be utilised more for the gossip.”
Eric is yet to find out Tracy Robinson has been stealing from the shop till, but the truth comes out after they check the books this week. Tracy has been taking cash here and there for months, and has taken thousands of pounds in total.
She confides in her sister Vanessa Woodfield this week, and tries to cover up what’s gone on. But in the end it all comes out, and Eric learns the truth about his dear friend.
He fires Tracy on the spot in front of everyone, as Vanessa drunkenly reveals all. Speaking about the plot, actress Amy Walsh revealed: “I think realistically, she will have always known that it would have to come out.
“Maybe she always knew that Pollard would find some sympathy. He’s always been like a father to her, maybe, you know. I think the guilt goes too far and he thinks it’s his fault and his illness affecting his mind and things
“So I think that’s when the guilt really kicks in for her and he’s so kind to her and he’s constantly saying you know he can’t be doing what he’s doing running the shop without her at the moment. I think the guilt just starts laying on thick from his perspective because you know from her perspective with him because he’s showed such kindness and then I think she just breaks.”
