But their ten-day lockdown in 2021 provided the spark they needed to expand their family.

Sarah said: “We had just started trying for a baby a month before and during our ten days in isolation there wasn’t much else to do!

“My body released either two or three eggs on that cycle, instead of the usual single egg.”

“So if we had missed falling pregnant that month, we wouldn’t have had the triplets.”

Sarah added: “I went for my 12 week scan and the sonographer ran the scanner over my stomach and said ‘the heartbeats are doing really well.’

“I thought she was joking, then another doctor came in and said I was having triplets.

“David and I were speechless.

“Afterwards we were looking forward to meeting them all, but we didn’t over the shock until they were born.”

Triplets Noah, Isla, and Mila were born in March 2022 and the family have just celebrated their third birthdays.

Sarah, a cleaner from Torpoint, Cornwall, added: “We never expected that Covid would end up giving us triplets!”
