The Chase viewers were left unimpressed following a player’s decision to take the lowest offer from Paul Sinha
The Chase: Player chooses low offer
The Chase viewers were on the brink of turning off their TVs after a contestant opted for the lowest cash offer. The ITV quiz show, hosted by the much-loved Bradley Walsh, returned with a fresh episode on Monday, 31st March.
Bradley greeted contestants Daniel, Bobbie, Nicola, and Adam, each aiming to bag some cash for various personal goals, from family visits to starting a new family. They squared off against Paul Sinha, also known as The Sinnerman, in hopes of securing a win.
Daniel was first up to face The Chase and impressed with his knowledge. But when he chose to accept Paul’s modest offer of £1,000 over a possible £6,000, viewers were not impressed.
Disgruntled fans took to social media to vent about Daniel’s conservative choice, with many feeling he had the chops to go for more.
“Yet another week of p****s ruining it and going low early, I’ve switched it off already what’s the point in waiting nearly half an hour now to see them all play for around 8k in total, even flog it looks appealing to watch now and starting in a min. #TheChase,” one viewer fumed.
Another chimed in: “Teams are normally influenced by the first player, how can you do that what’s the point of getting in the chase winning 6k to go low should be ashamed of himself #thechase.”
Some fans even called for the show to eliminate the lower offer option, with a viewer commenting: “It’s become so boring… just get rid of the low offer #TheChase.”
One viewer sharply suggested: “The Chase needs to get rid of the low offer option if it wants to keep going – with an audience! … #TheChase.”
Daniel triumphed his way to the final round with £1,000 in hand, while teammates Nicola and Bobbie were not so lucky, bowing out early, reports Bristol Live.
Final contestant Adam took a daring leap by taking Chaser Paul’s high offer of £59,000, with fans on Twitter fully supporting the bold move.
Tweets flooded in with encouragement, as one fan said: “#TheChase Take the 59k cos you ain’t got nothing to lose,” while another added: “Yeah go high #thechase,” and yet another chimed in with support saying: “Come on Adam! ! #TheChase.”
Despite the social media encouragement, Adam fell short of victory against the genius of the Chaser, leaving only Daniel competing in the final for a modest £1,000.
With the clock ticking down, Daniel was caught by Paul with just 46 seconds left, ultimately going home without the cash prize.
The Chase airs on weekdays on ITV1 at 5pm
