Coronation Street’s Jenny Connor will face some tough times in the coming weeks, This Morning’s soap expert Sharon Marshall has revealed trouble is to come for Jenny
Coronation Street fan favourite Jenny Connor will face tough times in the coming weeks. This Morning soap expert Sharon Marshall has revealed thing will come to a head for Jenny in the next few days.
Speaking on the ITV show today about the big scenes, which will see Bertie at risk of drowning, Sharon said: “Bertie is in danger. Jenny is looking after him at this point because remember, it was her son Tom that drowned in a paddling pool. He is rescued but it is all the start of people getting at Jenny. She’s got big storylines coming up and tough times ahead for her.”
It comes amid a huge exit for Coronation Street fan favourite Daisy Midgeley – who is heavily connected to Jenny. Speaking about her decision to leave the show, she said earlier this year: “My time at Coronation Street is something I’ll always cherish. After a brilliant four years for Daisy, it’s time for me to start a new chapter and explore other opportunities.”
A source added at the time: “Charlotte has loved her time on the cobbles but is young, ambitious and hungry to see what else is out there for her. She told bosses last April that her next contract would be her last, giving them a year to craft an exciting exit storyline. She’s still filming now and her final scenes will play out in early summer. She’s adored by cast and crew and will be hugely missed.”
Sources revealed to The Mirror more about Daisy’s big exit storyline as Daisy’s mum returns for the big scenes.
“Christina’s return certainly causes drama and she’s going to be ruffling some feathers throughout her time on the Cobbles. It’s a brilliant storyline for Christina and Daisy in what will be some of Charlotte’s final months on screen,” the insider told us.
“It’ll be sad to say Daisy leave the show, but we’ve got a few months of Christina causing all kinds of chaos before then. The cast are thrilled to welcome Amy back to the show in what will no doubt be a big storyline for the pair.”
Last year, Sally Ann Matthews – who plays Jenny – sparked fears she had left the soap, before confirming she was just on an extended break. She said: “I chose to get on an airplane because I’m particularly quiet at work,” before adding, “I’ve got like a million years off, so I chose to go on an airplane. I’ve been to Cyprus twice in the past five weeks and we landed last night and we came back.”
