Vanessa Feltz has spoken out about her exit from This Morning, after announcing that she was leaving the show after more than three decades to front a new Channel 5 show

Vanessa Feltz has candidly discussed her departure from This Morning as she gears up for an exciting new venture with Channel 5.

The veteran broadcaster, who’s been a staple on the ITV daytime show for more than 30 years, is set to embark on her own daytime chat show journey with Channel 5.

Although Vanessa originally thought she could juggle her commitments to both shows, it turned out not to be viable.

In a recent conversation with Metro, Vanessa explained that despite her wish to handle both roles, logistical challenges prevented her from doing so, though she emphasized there was no ill-will towards ITV bosses, commending their support for her move to Channel 5.

Her fondness for This Morning was clear as she told the paper: “I love This Morning, I would never leave it, I couldn’t love it more. I would happily have stayed and gone on the back of a motorbike from the This Morning studio straight to Channel 5 and done both.”

She added: “I almost believed I’d be able to do that, but I think apparently, it’s not the way it’s done… but I’d have done it, and I think they would have been happy for me to do it too,” reports Wales Online.

Vanessa openly shared how there was no driving need for her to exit This Morning, indicating she would still be part of the team if it had not been for the opportunity at Channel 5.

The television legend assured that her departure was amicable and filled with mutual respect.

She explained: “I love doing it, they like me, we all love each other, and I know that sounds very cosy and all of that, but it gets like that after a while when you’ve been there so long and know everyone, it’s a great pleasure doing it.”

She is no novice when it comes to commanding the stage as a talk show host. In 1994, she had her own ITV show aptly named Vanessa.

The show enjoyed a successful four-year run before transitioning to the BBC, where it continued for an additional two years on TalkTV.

Now, the TV personality is back for another round on Channel 5, with the programme set to air this week.

Vanessa has pledged to bring her “real, honest and unpredictable” persona to the table as she delves into current affairs, tackling subjects ranging from relationships and parenting to celebrity news and fashion trends.
