This show has been branded a ‘surprise gem’ on Netflix

Welcome To Eden: Official Netflix trailer
A hidden gem on Netflix, combining the allure of teen drama with the dystopian vibes of Black Mirror, has been earning rave reviews from viewers.
The series first hit screens in 2022 and ran for two seasons before being axed by the streaming giant, reports Surrey Live.
One thrilled viewer awarded it a five-star rating, writing on Google: “One of the best TV shows I have seen on Netflix in a very very very long time! Really good acting, great plot and plot twists, and wonderful concept!”.
“It was so fun to watch from beginning to end! and it was very suspenseful and thrilling and kept me guessing and it took me till the 2nd season to figure out what it’s really about (my mind was going all over the place, bc it wasn’t basic and what the show ended up being about was very unpredictable and hard to guess) [sic].”
Another fan described the series as a “captivating and thought-provoking television series that takes the viewer on a journey through a futuristic world where humankind has fled to an underground bunker after an ecological disaster.”
They added: “The show is a perfect blend of science-fiction, drama, and thriller, with intriguing characters and an engaging storyline [sic].”
Meanwhile, a third viewer commented: “Surprise gem! I don’t normally go for the teenage drama type shows but this one got me immediately and I binged the entire 2 seasons in a few days. I now have some serious work deadlines to catch up on, lol.”
While some viewers admitted that the show had its flaws, one fan wrote: “Are there plot holes? Of course… but the “entertainment” factor is off the charts. I love the blue colors throughout the episodes that really kept it visually interesting [sic]”.
A fourth fan raved: “This show was incredible. The aspects of it, the thought that went into creating this show is incredible. Please, more seasons. I read Netflix has decided not to bring more seasons, I think that’s absurd.
“Netflix brings in movies that are dumb, not all movies/shows are worth being on Netflix but this show deserves justice, we need more seasons [sic].”
Welcome to Eden, a Spanish sci-fi thriller, followed a group of young teenagers who were initially invited to a festival on a mysterious island.
However, things took a dark turn when only a select few were left on the island, known as Eden, and found themselves trapped by sinister forces.
As they fought to survive, they had to follow the rules of Eden, led by the enigmatic leader Astrid, played by Amaia Salamanca.
Despite their efforts to escape, the group found their attempts thwarted by the nefarious Eden Foundation and its employees.
With its attractive young cast and raunchy moments, Welcome to Eden drew comparisons to Elite, but also delivered plenty of suspense and intrigue.
The show boasted a 71 per cent Rotten Tomatoes rating and a 7.1/10 rating on IMDb, but was sadly axed after two seasons, leaving fans with unanswered questions and a desire for more.
