Britain’s Got Talent judges Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, Bruno Tonioli and guest judge KSI were impressed by magician Harry Moulding but some viewers were left confused

Some viewers expressed confusion over an aspect of a “mind reading stunt” on Britain’s Got Talent this weekend. It was part of an audition by amagician who impressed the four judges that were on the panel with their routine.

The act was showcased in the latest episode of the show, which returned tonight for another round of auditions. It comes after there had been disappointment for viewers last week as Britain’s Got Talent was replaced by coverage of the final Six Nations match in ITV‘s schedule at the time.

The latest episode saw Harry Moulding, 24, audition in his hometown of Blackpool in front of Alesha Dixon, 46, Amanda Holden, 54, Bruno Tonioli, 69, and guest judge KSI, 31. The latter was filling in for Simon Cowell, 65, who was absent from the panel for that day of this year’s auditions.

At the start of the routine, Harry got the four judges to choose between an apparent group of options in different categories. Bruno, for example, selected a location, seemingly at random from several options, which was revealed to be the Big One rollercoaster at Pleasure Beach Resort. KSI chose mint chocolate chip ice cream as a food item, Amanda chose the number three and Alesha chose the time 10.23am.

Harry wrote down their choices for the audience and then told the judges: “This is all really weird because yesterday I actually made this video.” Footage then showed him on the rollercoaster at the amusement park in the seaside town.

Whilst sat on the ride, he was heard saying in the footage: “I’m gonna attempt the world’s fastest mind reading stunt. I’m gonna try and predict the choices that KSI, Alesha [and] Amanda are all gonna make tomorrow night.”

He went on to reveal their choices, with KSI and Alesha’s choices written on his arms. The number three – selected by Amanda during the act – was seen on a t-shirt that Harry was wearing underneath a hoodie on the rollercoaster.

Harry said in the video: “KSI is gonna choose a food and that food’s gonna be a mint choc chip ice cream. Alesha will think of a time and that time is gonna be 10.23am. And finally Amanda will be thinking of a number. Amanda, that number is gonna be the number three.”

The judges appeared shocked over it, with KSI saying: “No way.” Amanda said at one point: “Wow”. Following another stunt in the act afterwards, the four judges all voted for Harry to progress to the next stage of the competition.

Viewers at home were also impressed with his performance in the audition earlier this evening. Several fans shared their confusion though at how Harry knew KSI would be on the panel for his audition, rather than long-running judge Simon.

One person asked on X: “How did he know KSI was gonna be there and not Simon?” Another teased: “I thought KSI was a last minute special guest, so how did he know KSI would be there? Magic I guess…” A third asked on the platform: “How did he know KSI would be the judge and not Simon?”

Another viewer wrote: “How did he know KSI would be there instead of Simon?” Sharing their thoughts, someone replied to the comment saying: “The judges schedule would have been arranged weeks in advance and the act would have been told who to name check while making their video.”

One fan questioned: “Ok #bgt @BritainsGotTal how did this magician know it was KSI and not Simon as a judge when he shot the rollercoaster the day before #BritainsGotTalent.” A reply to them read: “By asking the producers?”

Someone else asked in a post tonight: “How did he know KSI was a judge and Simon wasn’t going to be there that day?” A fan responded: “Magic lol.” Whilst one person said: “Hold up. How did he know KSI was a guest judge & Simon wasn’t there….” Someone teased back to them in a reply: “Excuse me. No logical questions please. It’s magic.”
