PRINCE William holds a wellwisher’s cuddly toy yesterday as he praised the resilience of the Ukrainian people during a show of support against Putin’s Russia.

On a two-day visit to Estonia, he wore bracelets in Ukraine’s blue and yellow given to him by students at a school set up for refugees from the war-torn nation.

Wills, 42, said they were “very strong, very smiley and very spiritual people” with “good souls”.

He told them: “It’s looking forward to the future in a positive way, it’s very important.

“It’s been a very difficult few years for you guys. Everyone sees that.

“What I love is (that) the Ukrainian resilience is everywhere.

“You all are very smiley and very strong and very spiritual people.

“And honestly that comes across everywhere.

“Even the Ukrainians I’ve met in the UK and like that – very resilient and very strong about things.”

He also joined a class and played basketball at the Freedom School, and shook hands and took selfies with locals in the capital Tallinn.

It came after he met with Estonia’s President Alar Karis and expressed his gratitude for Operation Cabrit — the project aimed at bolstering Nato’s eastern flank.

His trip marks the mission’s handover from the Royal Dragoon Guards to the Mercian Regiment, of which he is colonel in chief.
