Gangs of London season three will premiere on Thursday night and show bosses have warned viewers to expect a high body count

Gangs of London – Season 3 official trailer
The third season of Gangs of London is set to be as ruthless and riveting as ever, with some truly jaw-dropping moments in the opening episodes. The gripping crime drama, crafted by Gareth Evans and Matt Flannery, delves into the power struggles among rival gangs in London following the demise of a formidable patriarch.
Meanwhile, undercover cop Elliot Carter, portrayed by Sope Dirisu, is given the mission to infiltrate one of London’s most feared crime families with the aim of dismantling them at their most vulnerable point. The series has gained a reputation for its relentless fight scenes, extreme gore, and numerous shocking fatalities.
Ahead of the premiere this Thursday (20th March), executive producer Hugh Warren has assured that season three will maintain this intensity. “As ever with Gangs, there’s a high death count, so you never know how long anyone’s going to last,” he hinted.
“I guess the rule is you break the rules.
“There are always some real surprises in this show. Some of those are all to do with deaths, some of those are to do with understanding relationships”, reports the Express.
Warren also suggested that viewers will delve deeper into the gangs’ histories than ever before this season, which could reveal some ground-breaking secrets.
“There’s an element of ‘Who Do You Think You Are’ reveals about peoples’ familial connections that people wouldn’t have known about before,” he said. “But also changing allegiances, changing loyalties, betrayals… particularly in season three there’s an unravelling of who was responsible for the spiking, where the real power lies, who is loyal to who.
“Those things play through in a way I think the audience will be second guessing.”
For now, however, specifics about who will die and by whose hand are being kept under wraps. But, rest assured, no one is safe on the streets of London.
Viewers should also expect a devastating twist early on in the season that will set the stage for even more carnage.
Fellow executive producer Michael Eagle-Hodgson explained: “The end of episode two, the shock moment that we’ll deliver is one that took careful consideration and planning.
“What we needed to do was really ride the rhythm of the episode to make sure that we were landing the emotion in that particular story.”
The Wallace family, led by brothers Sean (Joe Cole) and Billy (Brian Vernel), are still at the forefront in season three, as well as their ruthless mother Marian (Michelle Fairley) and their father’s old partner Ed Dumani (Lucian Msamati).
However, the next outing will seriously shake things up following the departure of Jacqueline Robinson (Valene Kane) and Ed’s son, Alex Dumani (Paapa Essiedu).
The fresh faces joining the cast include Andrew Koji as Zeek, a mysterious newcomer infiltrating the gangs, Richard Dormer as Cornelius, an unpredictable character, and T’Nia Miller as London’s new mayor, Simone.
Could one of these newcomers be behind the shocking moment Eagle-Hodgson hinted at?
All will be unveiled in due course.
Gangs of London season 3 is now available on Sky Atlantic and NOW.
