Good Morning Britain viewers were left fuming during a tense Prince Harry and Meghan Markle segment on Wednesday
GMB panel discuss Prince Harry’s visa records
Good Morning Britain fans were left exasperated with cries of “move on” after a fiery debate on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle heated up on Wednesday (March 19).
The tension was palpable during today’s programme as hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley joined forces to deliver the day’s buzzworthy stories, debating hot topics alongside pundits Kevin Maguire and Andrew Pierce.
The conversation took a charged turn when they touched upon Prince Harry’s now-public visa documents, but the debate escalated as Meghan became the topic of contention.
Richard shed light on the situation, saying, “I tell you who’s breathing a big sigh of relief this morning in Montecito, and that’s Prince Harry. Because these documents relating to his US visa application… they have been released but they’re heavily redacted. America’s playing nice to our Prince Harry.”
Kevin reminded viewers of President Donald Trump’s acerbic take on Harry’s situation, invoking a scathing comment about not wanting to expel Harry from the States because “he’s got enough problems” already, reports the Manchester Evening News.
“I don’t want to do that. I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible,” Trump had quipped on X (formerly known as Twitter).
The panel then switched gears to discuss the Sussex’s standing across the pond, including the fate of Meghan’s new Netflix venture, With Love, Meghan – which, despite tepid ratings, has secured a second season.
“The ratings are not great,” chimed in Andrew, prompting a sceptical retort from Susanna: “Do you know that?”
Susanna revealed she’s whipped up Meghan’s one-pot pasta dish three times since tuning into the show, gushing: “I thoroughly recommend it, it’s delicious.”
Yet, GMB viewers were less than thrilled with the segment, flocking to social media to express their annoyance.
“Who’s bothered about Harry dear lord move on,” vented one viewer, while another chimed in: “Oh the shock! #GMB hating on Harry and Meghan again.”
“Wasting so much time on this, move on,” implored a third, as another lamented: “What has happened to Harry, why are he and Meghan unpopular, says the man whose programme has spent years and years running them down.”
A fifth critic pointed out: “So @GMB seem to think it’s more important to talk about (i.e bully) Meghan and Harry than about all those people terrified that their lives are going to be massively impacted by benefit cuts. Nice to know where their priorities lie.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 6am
