I was more worried about Kate Moss than ever after seeing frantic Paris Fashion Week videos- but there might be a reason

Occasional Digest - a story for you

FROM partying hard with rock stars to being snapped bleary-eyed with a cigarette in one hand and a drink in the other – there was a time when no one would even raise an eyebrow at Kate Moss’ ‘wild’ ways.

In the Nineties the supermodel was known for her “heroin chic” look, and the Noughties saw her ride out a now infamous cocaine scandal.

But that was all before she turned her back on London’s ultra-trendy Primrose Hill party set in favour of a quieter, more reserved country life.

However, times appear have changed and her loyal fans voiced concern this week when the Kate, 51, was filmed looking “fraught” on camera at Paris Fashion Week.

The footage showed Kate twisting and turning in an erratic way and, unless they put ants on the front row seats at Isabel Marant’s catwalk shows, I think something is afoot.

And I’m not surprised her loyal supporters are concerned, because I’m worried too.

Kate split from her British photographer boyfriend of nine years, Count Nikolai Von Bismarck back in December, with Kate throwing a raucous 51st birthday party to mark the fact she was back on the market last month.

And it seems the party is far from over.

“Kate is a single woman now and she is properly letting her hair down,” a pal told me.

“She doesn’t care what people think and says she’s having a great time.

“It’s like the Kate people knew from her twenties is back with a vengeance.

“For a while she lived such a quiet life, tucked away in the countryside talking about her love of clean living that people thought she’d changed.

“But Kate is still Kate – and she’s always loved a party.”

Even before her split with Nikolai, Kate was starting to let loose.

I mean, who could forget her falling over in Paris during her daughter’s Lila’s 22nd birthday celebrations.

It’s not exactly Kate practising what she said she preached after creating her own wellness brand Cosmoss.

“I go to bed, I drink lots of water, not too much coffee, and I’m trying to cut down on cigarettes,” a holier-than-thou Kate said at the time.

Despite being one of the biggest revellers of her time, Kate is believed to have been sober since 2018, with her close friend DJ Fat Tony revealing she had given up alcohol after years of drinking.

She also sold her home in London’s trendy Highgate in 2022, opting to set up shop in the Cotswolds.

At one point Kate took her new ‘zen’ lifestyle a step further with the creation of her wellness brand, saying: “I wanted to create something that would help me feel more grounded, something I could share.

“Cosmoss was literally blended at my kitchen table.”

She brought out a range of teas, a face oil and a “sacred mist” perfume said to “provide a sense of inner peace”.

“I like to start my day with a tea and meditation, followed by some Pilates or yoga,” Kate lectured, before speaking about her love of crystals, saying: “I really believe in their power and believe in the mystical and spiritual side of wellness.”

Lifelong fans of Kate however will always remember her more for her wilder past.

She dated drug-taking Libertines and Babyshambles singer Pete Doherty, married rock star Jamie Hince and was famed for falling out of clubs.

Pictures of her allegedly using cocaine in 2005 would also nail her reputation as a party girl.

She once complained: “Everybody I knew took drugs. So for them to focus on me, and to try to take my daughter away, I thought was really hypocritical.”

With Fashion Week finally drawing to a close, her fans and friends are now waiting to see whether Kate will calm down and head back to her house in the Cotswolds for an early night and a cup of herbal.

Or whether this party is one that is going to roll and roll…
