Wins for Murphy and Ford

A stunning break of 93 does the job for Shaun Murphy as he knocks out Ding Junhui 5-2.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Robertson will be ruing a missed opportunity from 2-0 up against Tom Ford.

Ford seals a 5-3 victory in ice cool fashion, with his opponent not able to get on the scoreboard in the last frame.

Joe O’Connor and Michael Holt remain locked in a tight frame at 4-3.

Closing stages

We’re approaching the closing stages of the final four World Open last 16 matches, with three of the four games within one frame of being won and the other being completed.

Carter has been imperious most of the afternoon, and barring one stunning frame from Lilley largely dominated.

He took his decisive fifth frame by 77-0 to win 5-1.

Elsewhere, Ford and Robertson have been going back and forth, with Robertson going 2-0 ahead before Ford surged into a 4-2 lead.

Robertson has taken the most recent frame to make it 4-3 and is not out of the game yet.

Meanwhile, Holt has just won a third frame 80-0 in his match with O’Connor to make it 4-3.

And it has been a slower burn for Murphy but he is now within one frame of victory over Ding after winning his fourth frame 77-24.

What a turnaround for Ford after he takes the fifth frame to move 3-2 up.

Ding has also won the next frame to stay in touch with Murphy.

Holt is also trying to create a comeback after taking the fifth frame in his game.

Carter is looking more infallible than his colleagues after taking a significant 58-0 lead in frame five, although Lilley is back at the table now and isn’t completely out of the frame.

Lunchtime break scores

With four frames played the matches have entered lunchtime breaks.

Ford had drawn level with Robertson after taking the fourth frame by 69-50.

Murphy took a 3-1 lead over Ding by winning the fourth frame 89-0.

The two-frame lead was the same in matches with Carter and Lilley and O’Connor and Holt which were both 3-1 going into lunch.

Carter had taken a 3-0 lead, while O’Connor was building on top of a comeback from a frame down.

Latest scores

Carter has taken a decisive lead over Lilley by going two frames ahead.

Meanwhile, Murphy has been pegged back to all square by Ding, with O’Connor and Holt also tied on one frame apiece.

Robertson is 2-1 up after Ford won the latest frame.
