In this episode of Down to Business, we hear from John Manley, former deputy prime minister of Canada who managed the country’s relationship with the U.S. at the highest levels of government.

Manley was elected as a liberal member of parliament for Ottawa South in 1988; and after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, he served as foreign minister and helped to fortify the Canada-U.S .border.
Today, Manley is chairman of Jeffries Securities, the Canadian arm of a New York investment bank, with a team of about 50 people in Toronto and Calgary that advise on big mergers and acquisitions.
