VIDEO doorbell maker Ring has unleashed a brand new all-seeing device that can catch criminals better than ever at night.
The company’s new Outdoor Camera Plus is said to offer the best video quality yet with 2K video resolution and a wide field of view to see more things around the home.
But it’s the low-light sight tech that may catch the attention of some home owners, which provides a clearer, colourful view even in near dark conditions, Ring claims.
“Even in a dimly lit front garden, the camera can capture moments with clarity and sharpness through the illumination of only a street light or other ambient light,” Ring says.
The device is built to for outdoors with weather resistance, or can be used indoors.
And it comes with three different power options: battery, plug-in and solar.
The latest Ring gadget features all the usual tools too, such as two-way talk, real-time notifications and motions zones.
Remember, to store videos and detect people or vehicles, you’ll need a paid subscription plan.
Ring Outdoor Camera Plus is available on Amazon for £99.99.
The latest product announcement comes just a few months after owner Amazon revealed a huge change to Ring’s subscription structure.
Fortunately, prices remained unchanged after the shake-up.
Both existing tiers received new names and some new features, meanwhile a third top end premium subscription plan was added.
Ring Protect Basic became Ring Home Basic, continuing to cover just one device and stores up to 180 days of video event history.
But they also received new Video Preview Alerts, which are short clips that appear in the push notification on your phone, so you can instantly see what triggered a motion alert without even needing to open the app.
Meanwhile, Ring Protect Plus was transformed into Ring Home Standard with an extended live view, allowing users to watch their camera feed live for up to 30 minutes at a time.
Then there was the introduction of Ring Home Premium, costing £15.99 per month.
The plan covers all the Ring devices in your home and 24/7 recording for the first time.
Footage is saved for a maximum of 14 days giving you time to check and download any you wish to keep.
