THEY say you shouldn’t meet your heroes.
But that is exactly what Luke Littler did as he was pictured with American rap icon Pitbull.
Darts world champion Littler uses the song “Greenlight” by Pitbull and featuring Flo Rida and LunchMoney Lewis as his walk-on music.
The 2016 hit was the fifth single off Pitbull’s tenth studio album, Climate Change.
And the Nuke was able to get a picture alongside the 44-year-old, who posted the snap to his social media.
Seen with his arm around the 18-year-old, he captioned the post: “@LukeTheNuke180 it was an honour, wishing you the best of luck.
“You have the Green Light, Dale!”
Fans were stunned at the crossover, with one saying: “Didn’t have that on the 2025 bingo card.”
A second said: “Luke is now Jr. Worldwide.”
A third added: “The collaboration I never saw coming.”
Another said: “Crazy crossover.”
Warrington ace Littler previously explained what his inspiration behind the use of the song is.
He told the JaackMaate Happy Hour podcast last year: “Because me and my dad went to Wrestlemania 33 seven years ago now and it was in Florida, Orlando, it was my first time being there and it was just a good song.
“I was singing my head off as a 10-year-old and whenever or if I did make it, I was still playing football at the time, that’s going to be my walk-on.”
Littler has since taken the world by storm with the song as his backing track, being crowned the world champion after winning the World Darts Championship earlier this year and moving to rank No.2 in the world.
Asked whether he would consider changing the song, Littler added: “For the time being (I will keep it). I haven’t even thought about (using other songs).”
While Littler took some inspiration from wrestling, it seems the same has happened vice versa with rising wrestling star, Bart O’Connor, who has been dubbed “Bart the Dart”.
The professional wrestler, who made his ring debut last week, dons a darts shirt during his walk-on and even comes out to iconic darts tune Chase The Sun.
While he is also introduced as coming from Alexandra Palace.
In a nod to darts sensation Littler, O’Connor has been described as a “17-year-old prodigy” despite his age being listed at 35 on a number of wrestling websites.
His unusual gimmick has already caught the eye of wrestling fans who welcomed him to the ring with 180 signs during his debut Riot Cabaret Pro Wrestling match.
