FOUR British women who allege that they were raped and coercively controlled by Andrew Tate have urged Donald Trump to stay out of the case against him.

The US administration has reportedly pressed the Romanian government to lift travel restrictions on Mr Tate and his brother Tristan who face criminal charges in Bucharest.

They are said to have asked that the brothers’ passports be returned which would allow them to travel while investigations continue.

Tate, 38, and his brother Tristan, 36, were arrested in Romania in 2022 and charged with human trafficking, sexual misconduct, money laundering and forming an organised crime group to sexually exploit women.

The brothers, who are dual UK and US citizens, deny any wrongdoing.

The Tate brothers are also accused of rape and human trafficking in the UK, where Bedfordshire police are seeking to extradite them.

A judge in Bucharest has said that the extradition request from Britain will be addressed at the conclusion of the case in Romania.

Andrew Tate is also facing civil action In the High Court from four British women who allege that he raped and coercively controlled them.

They say they were victims of sexual violence between 2013 and 2016, before he became known as an influencer.

Three went to the police at the time, but after a four-year investigation, the Crown Prosecution Service did not bring a charge despite police telling victims that, based on the evidence, they thought this was the wrong decision.

Tate denies the allegations and threatens to pursue them for defamation. The women believe a civil case is their only option.

Today, in a joint statement, the four British women said: “We are extremely concerned about reports that figures in Donald Trump‘s administration are pressuring the Romanian authorities to relax travel restrictions on Andrew Tate and his brother, which would increase the risk of the Tate brothers evading justice or fleeing from the authorities in Romania and the UK.

“We hope that the Romanian and the UK authorities will be left alone to do their jobs and we continue to stand in solidarity with all the victims of the Tate brothers’ alleged crimes.”

Matthew Jury, their solicitor at McCue Jury & Partners, said: “Trump isn’t just interfering in due process in Romania but in the UK where the Tates, who are British citizens, are also pending extradition to face criminal prosecution for human trafficking and rape in England.

“It would be embarrassing for the UK Government and a complete abdication of its responsibility to the victims if it stands by and lets this continue.

“It’s illustrative of the chaos of the Trump administration that on one hand, it calls Starmer an apologist for paedophiles for failing to prosecute grooming gangs while, at the same time, it has chosen to champion the Tates who are alleged to be some of the modern times’ most prolific human traffickers and serial rapists.”

In January, Mr Tate was released from house arrest after five months.

However, the court ordered that he must remain in Romania on probation, must check in periodically with cops, and cannot contact other witnesses or suspects.

Mr Tate’s lawyers said at the time: “In a crucial legal decision, the Romanian courts have today lifted the house arrest imposed on Andrew Emory Tate, replacing it with judicial control (probation).

“This ruling marks a decisive step forward, granting Andrew the freedom to travel throughout Romania while adhering to the required legal conditions.

“Once again, this decision highlights the Romanian justice system’s commitment to fairness and transparency, showcasing its dedication to upholding due process and the rule of law.”

The new Trump administration has reportedly made several attempts to put pressure on the Romanian government to lift travel restrictions on the Tate brothers.

US officials are even said to have discussed their case with their Romanian counterparts, The Financial Times reports.

It is also claimed that Trump’s special envoy Richard Grenell personally met Romania’s foreign minister to discuss the case.

Reports suggest a request was made by the US administration to return the brothers’ passports while legal proceedings continue.

Mr Tate initially gained fame after a short-lived appearance on Big Brother.

He was dumped from the reality show after alleged footage of him beating a woman emerged online.

He then built up an image that appealed to teenage boys – creating an online empire that made him one of the most searched people on Google.

His influence has had a worrying spread amongst young men and boys, with one UK MP saying he is “brainwashing” children.
