LUKE HUMPHRIES averaged a remarkable 119.88 in a showdown with “jammy” Gerwyn Price – and still lost.
The World No.1 faced off with the Welshman in an exhibition clash in Ennis, Ireland on Saturday night.
Humphries, the 2024 world champion, was on top form during the best-of-11 contest.
But Cool Hand Luke somehow lost out 6-1 to red-hot Iceman.
Price produced his own spell-binding average of 118.64 – but was more ruthless with his doubles.
Taking to X, a stunned Humphries wrote: “Jammy b****r he was.
“Didn’t miss a double. Has to be the highest ever recorded average over a best of 11 in history. And got bashed hahahaha.”
Both players managed to throw an 11-darter in the exhibition match.
Price produced three 180s over the seven legs, with Humphries throwing four.
While The Iceman reeled in the Big Fish, wowing the crowd with a 170 checkout.

The combined average for the match came to 238.52, thrashing the pro record of 228.65.
That was set by Peter Wright and Adrian Lewis as they grappled in the Darts Premier League in 2017.
Humphries was in fine form as he won the 2025 Premier League season opener in Belfast on Thursday.
Cool Hand beat Nathan Aspinall, Michael van Gerwen and Chris Dobey just days after securing the World Masters title.
A delighted Humphries said: “I think this is the hardest Premier League for a long, long time.
“For me, nights like this, you’ve got to be careful or they might not happen as often as you want.”

Humphries also had high praise for world champion Luke Littler, who lost to MVG on the night despite an average of 113.
Cool Hand added: “[Littler] is by far one of the greatest darts players I’ve seen in my career.
“I’m not disrespecting myself, I just think he’s the best player in the world and if he goes out, then I’m the man to beat.
“But he is definitely the one to beat.”
