Spurs pushing for second defender

Tottenham are said to be on the hunt for another defender, in addition to new boy Kevin Danso.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who wrote on X: “Tottenham are now pushing to agree on Axel Disasi deal with Chelsea as negotiations are ongoing today.

“As reported two days ago, Spurs want two centre backs (Danso first) after Dragusin’s serious injury.”

Postecoglou praises new signing

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou admits he’s delighted with the signing of Kevin Danso.

He said of the Austrian’s arrival: “Brilliant (to get him). I think Kevin will be a great fit for us.

“We’re a little bit short at the back, have been for a while and he’s just really experienced, a good one-on-one defender.

“I’ve said before that getting new players in gives us energy and will give the group energy.

“I’m looking forward to him being part of the group.”

Duran hits back

Jhon Duran insists his move to Al-Nassr wasn’t motivated by the whopping increase in wages he’s received with the Saudi Pro League club.

He told Al-Nassr TV: “As for the people saying I’m motivated by money, I’d like to say to them now that they know nothing about my life.

“Money doesn’t motivate me. I’m just a youngster and I still hang out with my people. I made this decision because I think it’s the best one and I’ll make sure it is.

“I don’t think it’s a backwards step for me. I’m moving to a competitive league and there are many stars here.

“There are many people who have a different idea about the league, but in general these people are thinking things that aren’t right.

“As for people who are saying this is a backwards step, I’ll prove myself on the pitch. On the pitch is where I’ll do my talking.”
