No Rocket
Ronnie O’Sullivan is not here this week after dropping out on medical grounds.
It comes after the seven-time world champion stepped away from his Masters defence earlier this month.
O’Sullivan told Eurosport: “It was a nightmare decision really to make.
“If you had asked me on Sunday if I was ready to play, I’d probably have been OK. It is such a massive tournament.”
Welcome to Berlin
Just over a week on from Shaun Murphy’s incredible triumph at Ally Pally, top level snooker is back at the German Masters.
World No. 1 Judd Trump is the defending champion in Berlin and has already set prize money records this season.
The Ace in the Pack has already beaten Ronnie O’Sullivan’s all-time prize money haul for a single campaign – and it’s only January.
Talking of the Rocket, unfortunately the seven-time champion is not with us this week after dropping out on medical grounds.
But we’ve a whole host of stars on the baize today getting their tournament underway.
Just in this afternoon session, the likes of John Higgins, Neil Robertson, Kyren Wilson and Chris Wakelin are all in action.
Settle in, the first matches underway from 2pm UK time.
