Burns went down 25 minutes into the match, with medical staff appearing to assess his knee.

Following five minutes of treatment he was replaced by Ben Johnson.

Burns has made 18 Premier League appearances for Kieran McKenna’s side this term.

He joined Ipswich from Fleetwood in 2021 and has played a major role in their rise from League One to the Premier League.

Prior to Burns’ injury, Liverpool had taken the lead courtesy of Dominik Szoboszlai.

Mo Salah then doubled their advantage on 41 minutes.
