Anyone with loose change down their sofa could be lucky enough to find the valuable item with it dating back a few years.
It has been listed for over 10,000 times its £1 value leaving the lucky owner with an incredible opportunity.
The rare misprint shows Queen Elizabeth II on the back and has been described as a “collector’s dream”.
While most misprints do not make it out to the general public when coins are sifted, some can “slip through the net”.
The incredible find shows the defect as the inner circle has not been set in place correctly.
Those thinking of putting in a bid will have to fork out £3.30 for the delivery fees on top of the starting price.
Based in Swindon, any interested collector has the chance to make an offer or buy the item at the listed price.
The listing reads: “Mishapen £1 coin. 2016 New Shape coin. This is a rare mis printed coin. One in a million!
“A collectors dream coin to have as it is so very rare. Coins are sifted through to stop mis prints getting out but some slip through the net, which makes it so exciting when a coin like this surfaces.”
The seller has included pictures of the coin alongside a comment it claims is from The Royal Mint.
It reads: “Hi we can’t authenticate a coin without inspecting it here first, however, based on your picture, we are confident that this is not counterfeit.
“We produce around five billion coins each year, and will be striking 1.5bn new £1 coins in total.
“As you would expect, we have tight quality controls in place, however variances will always occur in a small number of coins, particularly in the striking process, due to the high volumes and speed of production.”
