BRITS on holiday in a far-flung hotspot have discovered a cheeky pub doppelgänger that’s serving up a budget treat Wetherspoons fans back home can only dream of.

As the UK’s Wetherspoons dropped its much-loved £13 sirloin steak from the menu at 40 locations, “Witherspoons” in Pattaya, Thailand, has been cashing in, keeping the grills hot and the steaks sizzling.

Punters are up in arms after Wetherspoons axed the popular steak from its menu

The uncanny replica pub, complete with the signature patterned carpets, cheap booze, and all-day breakfasts, is offering a slice of home at wallet-friendly prices.

Its menu boasts juicy options like New York strip, tenderloin, and ribeye steaks, with sides and sauces aplenty.

On Wednesdays, a ribeye will set you back just £7.

A Witherspoons spokesperson said: “Calling all meat lovers. Get ready to treat yourself at Witherspoons Pattaya with a feast that’s worth every bite.

“Don’t just dream about it – dive into some serious meaty goodness.

“We can’t wait to see you here.”

The Thai venue has become a magnet for Brits abroad, racking up a 4.1-star rating on Google.

One visitor, Gary Homan, raved: “Out of all the places around, this is a catch-all and does-everything kind of place.

“The food is great, not exceptional but exactly what you expect for a pub/bar atmosphere and certainly well worth the price.”

Meanwhile, Wetherspoons customers in the UK are fuming over the axed sirloin.

Christine, a regular, cried: “Would like to know why on earth Wetherspoons have taken steaks off the menu. Travesty.”

Craig, who visited The Samuel Peto pub in Folkestone, Kent, vented his frustration: “No steaks here either. Evening ruined.”

The UK chain confirmed the move, with a spokesperson stating: “We can confirm that the company has taken steak off the menu in approximately 40 pubs.

“It is still available in 760 Wetherspoon pubs.”

The chain assured fans that their steaks, cooked fresh on-site with full traceability, remain a priority at most venues.

It comes after the budget pub chain slashed the price of pints on a range of drinks on New Year’s Day, with some available for as little as 99p.

Pubgoers were thrilled to hear the price drop will be in full force from January 2 to January 16.

This gives savvy savers two weeks to make the most of the offer while they tackle the post-Christmas blues.

A whopping 750 pubs spanning the UK will participate in the event offering punters a choice of venues.

As a new year’s treat, the company is reducing a pint of Worthington’s for 99p along with with a selection of other drinks.

Ale-lovers can get their hands on a pint of Ruddles for £1.29, down from £1.79.

Belhaven and Doom Bar have been deducted to a tasty £1.49.
If pints don’t tickle your fancy, more than 650 of the branches will be offering a glass of Coldwater Creek wine, from Chile‘s Valle Central wine region, for £2.49.
