A MAN has revealed that his neighbours didn’t want to uproot their trees, so decided to build a fence around them.
Stunned by the very unique design of the fence, the man took to social media to share it with others, leaving many totally gobsmacked.
Not only did people call the man’s neighbours ‘stupid’ and ‘idiotic’, but they also pointed out the impracticality of the fence too.
It comes after the anonymous man shared a snap of the fence on Reddit, on the r/mildlyinteresting thread.
Posting under the username @DeHumbugger, the shocked man confirmed “My neighbours built their new fence around the trees on their property.”
He also claimed that rather than forking out a professional to do the job, he is convinced they decided to do it themselves.

He then added: “I believe they did it themselves so they can adjust if needed through the years.”
The man confirmed that rather than chopping down trees to make way for a new fence, his neighbours simply cut holes in their fence so that the tree trunks could reach through.
But Reddit users were left open-mouthed by the post, which has racked up 76,000 reactions and 1,4000 comments.
Many claimed that the trees would soon come to ‘ruin’ the fence.
As well as this, people also stressed that his neighbours would eventually ‘regret’ their DIY idea, as tree growth and wind would likely cause carnage with their unique project.
One person said: “The fence is made of dead wood. The tree is made of living wood. The fence is already limiting the tree’s movement, and will severely affect the growth over time.
“That or the tree will ruin the fence if they don’t cut the holes much, much larger.”
Another added: “Interesting but stupid as f**k.”

Not only did one user call the neighbours ‘idiots’, but a third commented: “They will live to regret this.”
Whilst someone else chimed in: “This is such a stupid f*****g thing to do lol. Do they not know trees grow? Also wind.”
Mildly interesting? Yes. Mildly dumb? Also yes

To which another agreed: “That’s not gonna end very well in a few years when the trees outgrow the holes..”
Meanwhile, one user laughed and asked: “Mildly interesting? Yes. Mildly dumb? Also yes.”
Keen for more information, someone else questioned: “Was there a purpose to this or just because?”
To this, the Reddit poster replied: “Not sure, just think they wanted a fence but didn’t want to distrust the trees on their property.”
