FERNE McCann has admitted that she had a freak accident on the ice that left her traumatised – before signing up to Dancing on Ice.

An incident when Ferne was just a child left her terrified of putting a pair of ice skates back on but she will now be tackling the fear head on with her appearance on ITV‘s Dancing on Ice.

A nasty injury when she was just seven years old resulted in Ferne needing stitches amid the mishap.

Speaking about how the injury had affected her, Ferne said: “My first ever experience on the ice wasn’t great and left me scarred and the first time I ever went to A&E and got stitches.

“I went to an ice skating party when I was 7 and this boy skated into me and his skate went into my leg.

“I love that story because like anything in my life, I get back up and here we are.”

Elsewhere, Ferne admitted that she feels ready to pick up the crown and be declared Dancing on Ice champion.

Despite having signed on for a series of competition-based reality shows in the past, Ferne is yet to be triumphant and revealed that she has her sights firmly set on the DOI crown.

The reality star revealed: “I can’t lie, I have a competitive streak, I didn’t win I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, I missed out on SAS so I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to get to the final but more than anything I want to enjoy it.”

The Towie legend has been paired with pro skater Brendyn Hatfield ahead of the show’s return.

But Ferne also has family plans on her mind, as well as her skating routines.

She said she feels as though she’s “not done” when it comes to having children.

Ferne added: “I feel like I’m not done. But right now, I feel blessed. We’re a blended family of five [Lorri has a son from a previous relationship].

“I just feel so happy with my girls and they’ve got such a lovely relationship – they’re already really close.”

The skating star continued to tell OK! magazine that she and fiancé Lorri are “good” after being forced to deny split rumours following a ‘huge row.’

The couple welcomed their daughter Finty just 16 months ago, after a whirlwind romance which saw them get engaged in 2022.
