COPS have released CCTV in their hunt for a man who allegedly licked a woman’s cheek before putting his hand up her skirt in a beer hall sex assault.

Northumbria Police said: “We’re hoping to trace this man as we investigate a report of sexual assault in Newcastle.

“We received a report that a woman in her 20s was in Bier Keller, in the Bigg Market, at 1am on Saturday, November 16, when she was approached by a man.

“The man then grabbed her face and licked her right cheek before putting his hand up her skirt.

“Enquiries have been ongoing and the woman continues to be supported by specially-trained officers.

“Today we are releasing an image of a man we would like to identify.

“He was in the area at the time the offence is reported to have taken place and believe he may be able to assist with our enquiries.”
