Max later revealed he had to stay in due to cardiac issues and underwent a serious operation after his condition failed to improve.

But in a Christmas miracle, he was able to return home after spending time in hospital due to an undiagnosed heart condition.

The star seemed to be enjoying being back at home among loved ones and took a moment to share his happiness with fans on social media.

In a post on Instagram, he shared heartwarming photos cuddled up with his girlfriend Maisie Smith.

The Wanted star also posted a table adorned with festive decorations including Christmas crackers and presents.

The post was simply captioned “it’s so good to be home” and was accompanied by a love heart.

Speaking from his hospital bed on Christmas Eve, Max previously said he was “battered and bruised”.

However, he also revealed that he would be leaving hospital and returning home.

He added: “It’s time to go home. The numbers are way, way better. Feel knackered and have slept a lot today.”

Despite being discharged, Max revealed he still faces some additional medical tests in the coming weeks.

He continued: “Few more tests to do over the next couple of weeks. Something to do with my lungs, but that’s the least of my worries right now.

“So yep, all good, bit battered and bruised and knackered.”

He ended the video on his Instagram with a thumbs up to the camera.

Max, who has ditched booze after previous liver problems, saw his heart rate dramatically drop last week.

He has since been fitted with a pacemaker device to help stabilise it.

The Gold Forever singer previously said of his diagnosis: “We have cancelled out a few things like alcohol for example. I have not had a drink for four and a half years, so it isn’t that.”

Max went sober after he was told by a doctor his liver count was low following years of boozing on tour.

His girlfriend Maisie Smith told of her “pride” last week as Max prepared to undergo the surgery.

The former EastEnders actress, 23, visited him in hospital, posting a tender picture showing the pair holding hands.

The loved-up duo have been inseparable since going official in August 2022 and are also living together.

Max previously even branded his partner the “hottest thing anywhere.”

The couple then fuelled speculation they were set to wed after Maisie flashed a sparkling ring while on holiday in Cyprus.
