A BRIDE-TO-BE shared some prospective looks she purchased online for her bid day.
She picked up five affordable wedding dresses from Shein, and her viewers said there was a clear winner.
In her first video, TikTok user Lucy (@__luccy__xo) tried on each of the styles, giving her followers a close-up look at the detailing.
“I’m recently engaged, I’m not just trying them on for the sake of it,” she told her audience.
For her first look, she posed in an off-the-shoulder dress with lacey flower detailing, available for £100.49.
While the item fit Lucy well, she pointed out a significant issue with the bust.
The white cups sewn into the bodice of the dress were clearly visible through the mesh fabric.
Her next try-on was another off-the-shoulder look but with a slimmer fit, available for £126.99.
The dress featured a plunging neckline with sequined detailing and a short train.
Sparkling under the lighting, the gown included a tie but corset back.
Lucy’s third dress was a strapless look with a boned mesh bodice and princess skirt.
She informed her audience that the wedding dress is available for just £98.25.
The look also featured sequined detailing across the bodice and down the skirt.
Her next try-on included scallop straps and a low cut neckline with a more mermaid cut.
Lucy pointed out that the £40.73 look was a little tight around her stomach.
She turned to show her viewers the cut out back, which also featured lacey detailing on the back of the straps.
As she walked away from the camera, the lace detailing on the short train was also visible.
A fashion expert’s verdict on buying a wedding dress from Shein
Fabulous’ Fashion Editor, Clemmie Fieldsend reveals why you shouldn’t be shopping at Shein for your wedding dress.
“When it comes to your big day, you want to feel your best and look your best.
You want to feel special and, more importantly, be comfortable in what you’re wearing, are you going to get that from Shein? I doubt it.
Look, in an ideal world you’re getting hitched to the person of your dreams and what you wear is irrelevant. But let’s be honest, it’s kind of a big deal.
If you’re spending your hard earned cash on food, drinks, favours and everything else to celebrate you and your partner with your nearest and dearest, you deserve a dress that makes you feel like a million dollars.
But a £30 frock from Shein is a gamble.
It might be ill fitting, it might be badly made or just the complete opposite to what you expected.
High street bridal dresses are ten a penny these days with brands such as Asos, Karen Millen and even Primark selling bridal wear.
Make a day out of it and hit your local high street or shopping centre to try on as many as you can until you find ‘the one’, don’t wait for the postman to deliver disappointment.”
However, it was the fifth and final dress that proved to be a fan favourite.
The £116.77 off-the-shoulder look included long lacey sleeves with intricate detailing throughout.
It also featured a plunging neckline, which broke up the detailed bodice of the dress.
Lucy gave her followers a close up look at the detailing before backing gup and showing off the flowing skirt and low cut back.
TikTok users shared their thoughts on the looks in the comments section.
“Last one is stunning on you,” wrote one impressed viewer.
“That last one is the best. The first one is so noisy,” said another person.
“You look like a princess in the last one. Stunning,” commented a third follower.
