A FRANTIC search for survivors has begun after a huge explosion ripped through a block of flats in The Hague.
Firefighters rushed to the three-storey building in the city’s Tarwekamp area at around 6.15am this morning to put out a subsequent blaze.
Several apartments were completely destroyed in the explosion and fire with residents asleep at the time.
Rescuers are now looking for up to 20 people thought to have been in the block at the time of the blast.
Four have been pulled from the rubble so far.
The cause of the explosion is not yet clear but Dutch media say police are looking for a car which sped away moments after.
