THE UK Championship is right around the corner – with some huge names competing in York.

But the Rocket won’t be able to defend his title as he crashed out in the first round, losing to Barry Hawkins on Saturday night.

The UK Championship is the first of the World Snooker Tour’s prestigious Triple Crown events.

And many of the sport‘s elite will go to battle for a share of the colossal £1.2million prize money on offer.

  • The tournament runs until Sunday, December 1.
