  • Keep an eye out for fake AI Black Friday reviews

Black Friday shoppers searching for bargains risk being conned by fake customer reviews.

According to government data, one in seven online testimonials are false.

    How to spot fake reviews:

    • Spelling mistakes
    • Lack of detail
    • Either too long or too short
    • Five stars or one-star ratings are most likely to be fake
    • Loads of reviews in a short space of time

  • Molly Mae Hague’s ‘game-changer’ cleanser is slashed to £37

The Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm 100g is reduced from £49 to £36.75 in the Boots Black Friday sale – and there are three size options to choose from.

A favourite amongst celebrities including Molly-Mae Hague and Victoria Beckham, I tried out the trending cleansing balm for myself to see if it’s truly worth the hype.

Unlike a lot of cleansers, the Pro-Collagen balm is formulated without mineral oils, instead using Rose and Mimosa waxes with Elderberry, Starflower and Optimega Oils, all of which are included to leave the skin feeling clean and soft.

  • Get £151 L’OR coffee machine and 100 FREE pods for £60

The French coffee company has cut the cost of its Barista Sublime Machine from £151.49 to just £59.99, and it comes with 100 free pods.

  • Skip the Dyson Airwrap this Black Friday – this option is £200 cheaper

Shark has officially kicked off its epic Black Friday sale, and the brand’s bestselling FlexStyle has been slashed from £269.99 to £199.99.

The popular hair tool has been trending ever since its release in 2022 – and I swear by the styler that’s £200 cheaper than the iconic Dyson Airwrap.

Air hair tools have taken the beauty world by storm in recent years – with Dyson and Shark sitting in the top spots for the best-loved gadgets.

Shark’s FlexStyle Air Styler features the same air technology that styles without causing extreme heat damage, and beauty fans can shop it for less.

  • Why is it called Black Friday?

The story behind Black Friday’s name is disputed.

Some say that the day is so named as it is the day retailers “move into the black”, meaning that they can cover their costs while slashing prices for the sales.

Historically, in the UK Black Friday referred to the Friday before Christmas, when extra pressure was put on the police and NHS emergency services, due to festive celebrations.

But since 2014, Black Friday has come to refer to the massive shopping sales event.

It has quickly gained a reputation as a weekend of amazing deals and bargains, which has its origins in the mid-20th century, in the US.
