To win, all you need is a keen eye and the McDonald’s app.

The McDonald’s Gift Drop game will start in just a few days on November 20 at 5 am and is set to run until December 19.

During this period, customers need to be on the lookout for “hidden” gift tags that will be on a number of different items from the fast-food chain.

This includes adverts, online content from influencers, food and drink packaging, and even inside stores.

The gift tags could be anywhere both in the real world and in the digital world and it is the job of players to find them.

But, you need to know what you are looking for.

The prize-giving gift tags are black with a yellow border and there is a red gift box in the middle featuring a yellow bow and golden arches.

Each tag has its own unique code which can be entered into the McDonald’s app to reveal its gift.

Over 236,900 gifts will be up for grabs including festive McDonald’s jumpers, PJs, thousands of McDonald’s festive fries baubles, hundreds of 810 bucket hats as well as free food and rewards points.

Some of the food offers that will be part of the competition include 99p 6-piece chicken nuggets, £1.99 Happy Meals, Save £5 when you spend £15, and Buy One Get One Free on core sandwiches.

However, before the festive fun begins and eager players start to think of how they can use the game to their advantage, there are some rules you should know.

When you enter the gift tag code, the customer will instantly get two food offers, the main food one will expire on the day it was received while the breakfast one will expire the next morning.

All prizes must be claimed by December 23, 2024.

Main food offers will run from 11 am to 11:59 pm each day and breakfast deals will start at 5 am and end at 10:59 am the following day.

MORE FESTIVE FUN

McDonald’s is also gearing up to reveal this year’s Christmas menu in just a matter of days.

Next week, the chain will be releasing its festive menu featuring a spin on a hot chocolate, two never-seen-before items, and some returning favourites.

For just £1.99, customers can soon buy a Terry’s Chocolate Orange Pie – a crispy chocolate pastry with a Chocolate Orange-flavoured ganache filling.

When The Sun did a taste test of the new item, reporter Sam Walker classed it as “delicious”.

Sticking with this theme, Terry’s Chocolate Orange McFlurry will also return after its popularity last year.

But to make room for the new menu, other favourite items will be axed as the autumn range comes to an end.

Customers will be waving goodbye to the Toffee Apple Pie, the Mini Hash Browns, the Cheese Bites and the Toasted Marshmallow Hot Chocolate and Latte.

Foodies will also be gutted to hear that one item, in particular, hasn’t made its way back onto the Christmas menu this year.

The Festive Pie was a festive-themed Christmassy apple pie which returned to menus in 2021, and then again the following year.

But, for the second year in a row, the sweet dessert is not back on menus which is bound to leave fast food fans devastated.
