The mother-of-three paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II by completing the outfit with pearl drop earrings.

Her late grandmother-in-law received the earrings as a gift on her wedding day back in 1947.

It wasn’t the first time that Kate had attended the Cenotaph wearing three poppies.

She opted to wear three crimson flowers to the annual Remembrance Sunday Service back in 2015, having worn just one the year before.

She continued to wear a trio each year until 2019 when she chose to wear the Codebreakers brooch in tribute to her grandmother, Valerie Glassborrow.

Kate returned to wearing three poppies in 2020 but accessorised them with the Royal British Legion crystal flower.

The palace has never confirmed the reason why female members of the family often wear a collection of poppies.

One theory claims that Kate’s reason is to honour her great-grandmother’s three brothers, who all lost their lives in the First World War.

The late Queen was believed to have worn five poppies as a symbol for The Royal Navy, the Royal Marines, the British Army, the Royal Air Force and the Defence Medical Services.

Poppies have been a symbol of remembrance and hope for the future since 1921.

King Charles and the Prince of Wales each wore one poppy as they joined veterans in a two-minute silence this morning at 11 am.

The members of the royal family and senior royals laid wreaths during the service to honour those who served and sacrificed their lives in war.

Kate stood alongside the Duchess of Edinburgh on a balcony overlooking the event.

It was her second consecutive day of royal engagements since last December.

Royal Family roles explained

Last night, she joined Prince William for the annual Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall in South Kensington, London.

William placed a protective hand on Kate’s back as he supported her first royal duty since the end of her chemotherapy.

She was seen on the verge of tears as she applauded the heroes of 1944 during the event.

Prince William has revealed that Kate will continue to be busy with royal duties throughout 2025.

“I think hopefully Catherine will be doing a bit more next year, so, we’ll have some more trips maybe lined up,” he said.
