Ronnie O’Sullivan claimed a 6-2 win over He Guoqiang to move into the third round of the International Championship in Nanjing.

The seven-time world champion, who has been defeated twice by China’s He this season, lost the opening frame but took control of the contest with breaks of 73, 87, 83 and 70.

And two more half-centuries ensured the Englishman sealed his victory in comfortable fashion.

“It was a big match and I had to just block out that I’d lost the previous two and try to play my game,” said O’Sullivan, who will now face Pang Junxu.

Meanwhile, Neil Robertson compiled four centuries on his way to a 6-0 triumph over Fan Zhengyi.

Robertson won the English Open in September to mark his return to form and reeled off breaks of 135, 102, 135 and 109 to progress in just over an hour and 40 minutes.

The Australian, who needs a strong showing in the tournament to secure one of the automatic 16 seeded spots at the UK Championship, will now take on England’s Barry Hawkins.

World champion Kyren Wilson enjoyed a break of 143 as he advanced past Liu Hongyu 6-3, while world number one Judd Trump beat Sanderson Lam 6-0.

Stuart Bingham, the 2015 world champion, suffered a 6-0 loss to Thepchaiya Un-Nooh.

Wales’ Mark Williams awaits the Thai player after his walkover against Mark Davis.

Shaun Murphy progressed past Anthony Hamilton in the same manner, while defending champion Zhang Anda overcame David Grace 6-3.

Ding Junhui secured a 6-1 success over Martin O’Donnell, while two-time world finalist Ali Carter won the final frames to edge past Scotland’s Ross Muir 6-5.

Northern Ireland’s Mark Allen defeated Ireland’s Aaron Hill 6-2.
