A SAVVY woman has shared a super simple hack for dealing with trick-or-treaters.
So with Halloween fast approaching, if the thought of constantly getting up to answer the door to hungry youngsters sends shivers down your spine, fear not, we’ve got just the thing for you.
Particularly if you are someone who wants to enjoy a cosy night in on the couch, without having to greet young children dressed in spooky costumes, you’ve come to the right place.
Thanks to Vikki Bowie, a content creator from the UK, you won’t have to worry about trick-or-treaters disturbing your evening tomorrow.
Vikki took to social media to share her simple trick, but it left people totally divided.
Whilst some ‘loved it’ and hailed it ‘genius’, not everyone was on the same page and pointed out a major flaw.

Posting on TikTok, Vikki explained that prior to the evening of 31st October, she will make her own sweet bags for trick-or-treaters.
The woman simply adds a small handful of sweets and treats into a plastic bag, which she then sticks onto her front door.
But rather than waiting for her doorbell to ring to hand them out and to ensure that trick-or-treaters don’t disturb her evening, she then added a sign on her door, which read: ‘Just take one and f**k off.’
Thrilled with her super simple but effective hack, Vikki wrote: “Great idea for Hallowen when you just can’t be bothered with the trick-or-treaters knocking on your door every five minutes.”
She then told trick-or-treaters: “Read the sign kids!”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @vikkibowie, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up a jaw-dropping 771,800 views.
But social media users were left divided by Vikki’s idea – whilst some thought it was a great idea, others weren’t so keen and claimed that children wouldn’t just take one bag.
One user beamed: “That’s a great idea.”

A second chimed in: “I love this.”
Someone else claimed: “Class, I’m pinching this.”

Whilst another beamed: “This is absolutely genius.”
However, at the same time, one person said: “Where I live people would take them all at once.”
How to save on Halloween
CUT-OUTS WON’T KEEP: Once carved, pumpkins last just three to five days before they start to rot. So wait until a day or two before Halloween to carve yours, to ensure you won’t have to buy a replacement.
CHILLING CARVINGS: Carve your pumpkin right first time. Download free templates from Hobbycraft to help ensure no slip-ups.
DEVILISHY CHEAP DECORATIONS: Create spooky spider webs using old string or rope.
PAY LESS FOR FACE PAINTS: Cut costs by using your old eyeliners and eyeshadows, and dab on some talc when you need a ghostly white shade.
CUT-PRICE CANDY: Before you buy sweets to give out as treats, clear out your cupboards and see what you have. If you need more, shop bulk deals and compare the price per kilo before you buy.
PETRIFYING POT LUCK: Ask your guests to each bring a delicious themed dish to your party to keep hosting costs down.
SPINE-CHILLING TUNES: Turn to YouTube for a frighteningly good free playlist. There are dozens of channels with hour-long music mixes.
HOLD A SPOOKY SWISH: Swishing — or clothes-swapping with friends — is an easy way to get a new wardrobe. Hold a spooky swish before Halloween to trade costumes for kids and adults.
FRIGHTENING FREEBIES: Sign up for a free local Halloween event. Check your local Nextdoor or Facebook pages, or search eventbrite.co.uk for ideas.
BLOODY GOOD DEAL: Don’t fork out for expensive fake blood. Make your own edible version instead. You can use it for cakes and to decorate costumes.
SHOP ON NOV 1: Be organised and bag the bargains for next year by hitting the shops the day after Halloween. Remember to buy your kids’ costumes a size larger to allow for growth.
Another agreed: “They would take all of them.”
A third commented: “Just don’t answer the door.”
Meanwhile, one user explained: “I live in a ‘posh’ estate, this would be frowned upon.”
