Occasional Digest - a story for you

The historians are sharpening their pens to write new history about the world’s politics. New patterns are emerging that could challenge the existing status quo or lead the world one step closer to hell.  Israel’s scorched policy in the Middle East has shaken the region, haunting the innocent people of Gaza and Lebanon. On the other hand, the United States presidential election is at the doorstep, and it would change the whole picture of world politics, especially the landscape of the Middle Eastern region.

After one year of war, 41,909 people were killed, two million Gazans were displaced and 10,000 people were buried under the rubble. The war has been flaming the humanitarian crisis in West Asia. Now, the weapons of Israel are pointed at Lebanon, killing nearly 2000 people.

Furthermore, Iran has jumped into the war by attacking a missile on Israel. Iran launched a missile to punish Israel for Hassan Nasrallah’s assassination. In response to this, the United States imposed sanctions on Iran’s oil sector which could exacerbated the economic crisis in the region. United States’ backing of the Zionist regime escalated more tension in the region. Providing 4.86 billion dollars for military campaigns in the Middle East, the United States nevertheless blamed Hamas and Hezbollah for not brokering the deal. Also, Biden has pledged Tel Aviv to provide full support and ensured that Iran will face severe consequences.

An oil-rich region, fulfilling the demands of consumers all over the world, has been on the edge of the escalation. Netanyahu claimed that there is no place left in the Middle East where Israel cannot be reached, making the picture more horrific. He stated that it was a war between barbarians and civilized people. Furthermore, he rejected the two-state solution considering all the land belonged to Israel. The expected attack of Israel on Iran’s nuclear and oil installation would lead to another crisis. Also, the world will witness the financial crisis.

However, the 60th presidential election of the United States would determine the fate of the Middle East. Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are in the race for the presidential election. Kamala Harris, who served as the vice president during Biden’s regime, can continue the legacy of Biden and fuel the war by providing military aid to Israel, causing the genocide to go on. Also, she said that Israel has the right to defend herself. However, Trump accused Biden’s administration of the growing conflict in the region. More cards will fold after the president takes the oath. The Middle Eastern crisis would also affect the presidential election, as ordinary citizens will be deciding whether the policies of democrats are right-based or not.

The rapidly changing political landscape would determine the next three, or four years of world politics. The United States and Western powers, who are the champions of fundamental human rights neglecting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a charter introduced by Western powers after World War 2. The creators of the charter fueled the war in the Middle East by providing military aid to the Zionist regime.

Throughout history, humans have been suffering whether it was a war between two Greek cities, the Peloponnesian war, or a war revolving around a whole continent, like World War 1 and World War 2. However, If the United Nations or other stakeholders do not intervene in the Middle East turmoil, it will have a ripple effect on the world.
